Locales
The World Beneath hides where realms lean against the mortal world, reachable only through ley line nexus points or thin spots in the veil. Faerie courts wait past rain-slick alleys, Atlantean ruins drown beneath subway tunnels, and vampire nightclubs pulse in opera houses with wrong reflections. Pocket-dimensional speakeasies like The Spot fold space to link hidden doors across continents, making every street a possible border to another world.
A drowned empire beneath shifting seas, Atlantis endures in a prismed half-light where coral palaces and crystal towers rise from the abyss. Its streets are carved from living stone, its air sustained by vast runic domes, and its rulers—the Atlantean Authority—govern with the precision of tidal law. Ancient magic thrums in every current, and the weight of its history is felt in the quiet between waves.

Duat exists in two reflections—one beneath the Nile’s black waters, the other in the endless night beyond the stars. It is a realm of shifting wonders and terrors: the tranquil Field of Reeds, where righteous souls walk in eternal dawn, and the solemn Hall of Truth, where hearts are weighed against the feather of Ma’at. Those who enter find Duat shaped by the measure of their own soul, revealing either a path to ascension or an eternal snare.

Ginen lies beyond the mortal shore, reached only by crossing the sacred crossroads under the watch of Papa Legba. It is a lush, endless homeland where the Lwa dwell in brilliant palaces of coral, gold, and shadow, each domain reflecting its patron’s nature—storm-wracked seas for Agwe, moonlit gardens for Erzulie, roaring battlefields for Ogoun. Rivers run with ancestral memory, carrying songs and secrets to the far horizon. At its heart, in a place no mortal eyes have seen, Bondye sleeps in unfathomable stillness, dreaming the world into being.

Ginen
A restless, shifting chaos where all realities press together until the seams ache. Shadows bloom in colors that should not exist, and forms stretch into unshapes before dissolving again. Gravity sways like a drunk, time folds back on itself in jagged loops, and the air hums with the sound of something vast turning in its sleep. Here, the laws of magic and matter are merely suggestions, and every breath tastes like a promise you don’t remember making.

The In-Between
Hell is the dominion of Lucifer, the first and most infamous of the Fallen. Ever the showman, he molds his realm into a warped reflection of modern human cities—towering glass spires cracked with flame, neon streets slick with shadow, and avenues that loop into themselves like traps. The architecture shifts with the trends of the mortal world, an eternal renovation to stave off the endless boredom of damnation. Here, vice is currency, temptation a civic service, and every deal is written in heat and hunger beneath Lucifer’s watchful, amused gaze.

The Human Realm is the everyday world of cities, suburbs, and wilderness—bustling with ordinary life yet threaded through with unseen wonders. Beneath its surface, hidden doorways and shadowed alleys lead to the World Beneath, where magic thrives in secret. Sometimes this hidden world cloaks itself entirely; other times, it stands in plain sight, disguised as backroom clubs, forgotten libraries, or graffiti-tagged walls that hum with old spells. To most mortals, these moments blur into coincidence or daydream, but to those attuned, the mundane is just a thin veil over stranger, older truths.

Otherworld is the luminous, perilous realm of the Fae, shaped by the will of its four sovereign Courts—Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring. Each is ruled by a monarch whose very presence sculpts the land: radiant Queen Titania of Summer, wise Queen Gwenhwyfar of Autumn, beguiling Queen Myrraskel of Winter, and mercurial King Oberon of Spring. Their domains reflect their natures—sunlit citadels, harvest gold forests, frost-laced cities, and blooming wildwoods—woven together by ancient magic. Beauty and danger walk hand in hand here, where mortal senses falter and the Courts’ shifting alliances determine the fate of all who wander beneath their skies.

Hidden beyond mortal sight, Themiskrya is the sacred homeland of the Amazons. Once united, it now fractures into three factions. The Daughters of Diana remain loyal to Queen Ortera the Unbroken, guarding the Gates to the Elysian Fields. The Arrows of Artemis grow restless, yearning to abandon their duty for the human realm, men, and mercenary life. The Sisters of Circe, few but potent, traded immortality for magic and serve only their sorceress’s agenda. Thalyra struggles to hold them together, knowing their division threatens the very gates they guard.

The Spot is one of the only true neutral zones in the World Beneath, a sprawling interdimensional speakeasy stitched into the heart of Chicago. Folding space to connect secret doorways scattered across cities and realms, it draws travelers, exiles, and dealmakers into its velvet-lit halls, where music, magic, and rumor flow as freely as the drinks. Built atop a leyline, its intricate wards and anchor glyphs keep both the power and the peace intact—violence turns inward before it can be loosed. Run by the enigmatic Eduardo “Eddie” Ramirez, The Spot offers sanctuary, temptation, and peril in equal measure.
